Copernicus data and services are already being piloted and applied in various ways in the field of water management. A lot has happened since the last joint workshop with LAWA and we want to review and discuss these developments together.
The first part (in English and hybrid) will be held with the participation of the European Environment Agency and other European countries. Key questions: Which new products for water management are being generated by Copernicus? What are further ideas? And how is Copernicus already being used for the Water Framework Directive? The second part (in German and mainly in presence; presentations can be attended online, discussion part only on site) mainly highlights the national perspective. One focus is on the BIGFE project. Key questions: Which "use cases" for application exist and how can the approaches be standardized or even improved? What are remaining obstacles on the "last mile" to usage, e.g. for the Water Framework Directive? The target audience includes state and federal agencies in particular, but municipal stakeholders are also welcome to attend. The workshop is organized jointly with LAWA.
