6th Workshop on Field-Flow Fractionation – Mass Spectrometry (FFF-MS) Nanoanalytical Tools in life-science applications – sp-ICP-MS

22. – 23.11.2018

Bundesanstalt für Gewässerkunde, Hauptgebäude

Am Mainzer Tor 1 56068 Koblenz

Engineered nanomaterials are subject of intense research since several years and a set of analytical tools was developed to tackle nanoanalysis, especially in complex matrices. However, nanoalytical techniques are also applicable to scientific issues in the field of life-sciences (e.g. proteins, single cells). Especially sp-ICP-MS (either "stand alone" or coupled on-line with fractionation systems) turned out as an emerging technique. Thus, the focus of the 6th FFF-MS Workshop is placed on "Nanoanalytical Tools in life-science applications – sp-ICP-MS"

The first day (November 22nd) of the Workshop will start with two survey lectures with a focus on life-science applications given by Dr. Norbert Jakubowski (BAM, Berlin, Germany) and Dr. Irina Estrela-Lopis (University of Leipzig, Germany). Scientific presentations (mainly from young scientists) will complete the session.

The second day (November 23rd) will be organized in the format of a tutorial on the topic of sp-ICP-MS given by Dr. Geert Cornelis (Swedish Agricultural University, Uppsala, Sweden). The principles of sp-ICP-MS, data assessment as well as application examples will be introduced.

The Workshop is completely free of charge. Speakers will receive a partial travel subsidy.

Abstract submission deadline: October 15th
Registration deadline: October 31st
