In-situ river discharge data with a few mouse clicks

The GRDC Data Download portal is for web-based selection and download of river discharge data collected by GRDC on behalf of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). Calibrate your hydrological model, evaluate model results, or validate remote sensing data with in-situ data. With your data request and download you accept GRDC's Terms of Use and Data Sharing Conditions. More : In-situ river discharge data with a few mouse clicks

Connecting producers and users of hydrologic data

The exchange of hydrological data and information on a global scale is the principal reason for operating GRDC. The primary objective consists in supporting water and climate related programmes and projects of the United Nations, its specialised agencies and the scientific research community through the collection and dissemination of hydrological data across national borders in a long-term perspective.

The National Hydrological and Hydro-Meteorological Services are prime providers of river discharge data and associated metadata. On the other hand, these data are needed in a variety of transnational studies such as water balance studies, investigation of trends in long-term hydrological time series, estimation of flux of fresh water and pollutants into the oceans, or the coupling of runoff quantities with water quality data. Universities and scientific institutions may use the data to verify and calibrate hydrological models, validate model results, or assess the world's available water resources under the conditions of climate variation.

The GRDC provides access to river discharge data and data products for non-commercial applications. A GRDC-Station Catalogue informs about the stations represented in the Global Runoff Database and the available discharge data. Using KMZ files in Google Earth, GRDC stations can be displayed providing the location and an set of basic metadata.
