Analytical Forum “Water Contaminants”

The German Federal Institute of Hydrology (BfG) is pleased to invite you to participate in a special working group for experienced users of LC tandem MS and LC high resolution (HR) MS systems. The Analytical Forum “Water Contaminants” brings together a limited number of experts from all around Europe and different types of laboratories. LC/MS users from industries, public authorities, universities and water laboratories can exchange their experience in the field of water analysis and establish an exclusive contact with scientists from product development and support of AB SCIEX.

The Analytical Forum Water Contaminants was established in 2009 by a group of water analysts using AB SCIEX mass spectrometers. Since then, there have been six AFWC meetings successfully held in Germany, Switzerland and Belgium with the support of AB SCIEX. The mission of the group meeting is to provide a venue where members can learn recent trends and advances in water analysis including analytical technologies, share their experiences and best practices in environmental analysis, and network with their peer scientists to foster potential collaborations. Also, the members provide consultancy to AB SCIEX, a global leader in mass spectrometry, on further development of its product portfolio. In return they enjoy privileged insight in the evolution of AB SCIEX´s products. Over the years the AFWC meetings were attended by almost 50 users from 12 European countries.

  • The preliminary agenda includes the following subjects:
  • New challenges in water LC/MS/MS and LC-HRMS analysis and exchange of methods
  • Interactive software trainings for LC/MS/MS & LC-HRMS data processing
  • Workflows for Non-Target Screening
  • Expansion of databases and libraries
  • News from standardization
  • Requests for AB SCIEX considering applications, software or hardware issues
  • Practical service trainings: tips and tricks

We encourage you to join the AFWC and to bring some information with you regarding the above mentioned items. Also, you can propose a discussion topic of your interest. Overall, we strongly believe the AFWC represents a unique platform for mutual benefit.

The meeting will be organized at the German Federal Institute of Hydrology (BfG) in Koblenz, Germany from 28 to 30 April 2015. Detailed information will be provided in due course.
