Workshop „Remote sensing monitoring of marine pollution“ and 17th Meeting of EGEMP

EGEMP is the “European Group of Experts on remote sensing Monitoring of marine Pollution”. The aim of EGEMP is a comprehensive exchange of information, knowledge and expertise about the monitoring of marine pollution by remote sensing at European, regi onal and national level. EGEMP is working on the interface between operational requirements and science. Thus, the group is following recent developments and trends in remote sensing monitoring of marine pollution. In order to fo ster the European exchange and the exchange with the scientific community and companies, EGEMP is announcing:

Call for papers for the open workshop

Oral contributions are invited for the topic of remote sensing of marine pollution with the focus on oil spills. Especially encouraged are presentations on:

  • New methods or technologies for classification and quantification of oil spills, look-alikes or other substances
  • New sensor types: e.g. hyper-spectral; polarimetric satellite data
  • Combined observing systems (e. g. satellite, aircraft, UAV and micro satellites)
  • Validation and statistics

Further, contributions could be on the topic of, e. g.:

  • Interface with drift models
  • Remote sensing of HNS
  • Ship based detection systems
  • GIS systems for visualisation and data fusion
  • Remote sensing of ship exhausts
