National and Regional Hydrological Services:
ISPRA (Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale), is the Institute for Environmental Protection and Research. It serves as the national hydrological service (former APAT) and has access to historical data and station information (metadata). Real-time data is under the responsibility of 21 regional authorities called ARPA (Agenzie Regionali per la Protezione Ambientale).
