Application of Hydrological Normals to the Rhine Basin / Pablo Borges de Amorim, Technical University of Dresden, Germany.
The approach of illustrative Normals developed in this work, which sets up a calculation tool allied to the GIS platform, provides reliable and comprehensible hydrological information. ... The Normals obtained may be useful as a basic hydrological information to prepare operating rules for dams and waterways, agricultural, industrial and residential demands, as well as a benchmark to make important estimations that may be helpful for policy makers, engineers and economists so that proper risk analysis can be performed to influence investment decisions in future infrastructure and to determine the yield reliability characteristics of water supply systems.
