This glossary contains acronyms, initialisms and designations belonging to national institutions responsible for operational hydrology and international organisations, programmes and projects in the field of Earth observation and data management. For years now GRDC has been offering its Categorised Water & Information Related Links
to browse through acronyms and links of international organisations, programmes and projects. With the relaunch of the GRDC Website, the previous glossary is substituted by an alphabetic list of abbreviations GRDC is faced with in its routine business and in the context of trans-national data collecting projects.
The long names are given in the original language. An English equivalent will be provided as far as it is known to GRDC. If available, an URL will be provided which will guide you to the respective external presentation, usually the Website of the associated organisation, programme or project. Contents may be extended, changed or withdrawn without prior notice. Hyperlinks to other Websites are provided as a convenience only. They imply neither responsibility for, nor approval of the information contained in those other Websites.
