GRDC HydroTerms

The GRDC HydroTerms contained English terms as published in the online version of the UNESCO-WMO International Glossary of Hydrology (1998) and the keywords of a tentative "WMO Keyword List", compiled by the WMO Expert Team on Integrated Data Management (ET-IDM) in 2004. Additional terms were derived from the separation of multi word terms.

In 2011, an updated version of UNESCO-WMO International Glossary of Hydrology was incorporated in METEOTERM, the WMO terminology database which contains specialized terminology in six languages: English, Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish.

Since METEOTERM is online available from the WMO Website, we will no longer maintain the GRDC HydroTerms and ask website user to use METEOTERM in future to search for the specific meanings of terms endorsed by the WMO and its scientific and technical programmes. Please note: The online version of the UNESCO-WMO International Glossary of Hydrology (1998) still exists in parallel.
